Seven Jülich scientists among the "Highly Cited Researchers 2025"

Seven scientists from Forschungszentrum Jülich have been included in the list of "Highly Cited Researchers 2025" by the renowned Web of Science Group, which belongs to Clarivate Analytics. This distinction honours their significant research achievements, which are cited with above-average frequency in scientific publications worldwide. It is considered one of the most important indicators of scientific excellence.

Astrid Lambrecht Appointed to German Chancellor’s Strategy Council for Technology and Innovation

The Chair of the Board of Directors of Forschungszentrum Jülich, Prof. Dr. Astrid Lambrecht, has been appointed by German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz to the Chancellor’s strategy council for technology and innovation. The council is the German Federal Government’s highest advisory body on innovation and technology policy.

Brain Research

Fighting fatigue: how AI is helping cancer patients cope

For many people living with cancer, fatigue is an additional, often invisible burden in everyday life. Researchers in Jülich are working together with partners to make this elusive form of exhaustion measurable – and ultimately, more treatable. The consortium is developing a digital solution that uses wearable sensors, a smartphone app and AI to provide individually tailored therapy recommendations.

Our 3 strategic research priorities

Information

The priority of information combines Jülich research in three areas: simulation and data science in high-performance-computing (HPC), brain research, and research on bio- and nanoelectronic information technologies of the future. Quantum technologies are another priority at Jülich.

Energy

Jülich energy research concentrates on an energy system based on renewable energy. Scientists research technologies on all scales – from the atomic level right up to industrial innovations – covering the entire value chain from basic to applied research.

Bioeconomy

The sustainable bioeconomy is a biobased circular economy that does away with fossil resources and utilizes renewable resources instead. Scientists from Forschungszentrum Jülich are developing new value creation processes.
