The Institute of Technology and Engineering (ITE) is a multidisciplinary institute with world-class expertise, state-of-the-art laboratories and leading manufacturing technologies. Our aim is to develop innovative research devices, instruments and equipment in the form of unique products and demonstration facilities that push the boundaries of current technology and create solutions where no alternatives exist or are available. This will open up new possibilities and enable new discoveries and breakthroughs in science.

Our research focuses on interdisciplinary topics based on mechanical engineering, automation, electronics and artificial intelligence. ITE has a special focus on low temperature technology, miniaturisation, ultra-high vacuum technology, mechatronics and the development and implementation of advanced instrumentation. To successfully bring ideas to life, we closely integrate engineering and manufacturing technology, as well as the unique combination of diverse disciplines and state-of-the-art innovative technologies, equipment, complemented by the extensive experience and expertise of our staff.

By transferring knowledge across projects, disciplines, technologies and topics, ITE makes a significant contribution to interdisciplinary projects addressing major societal challenges in the areas of Energy, Information, Earth & Environment and Matter.

In close collaboration with national and international partners from academia and industry, we aim to act as a catalyst for research, facilitating the advancement of scientific knowledge and the transition from groundbreaking ideas to useful applications.

Our work enables excellence through scientific innovation- not only to shape the future of technology, but also to have a lasting impact.
