Brief description of the programme
The Hanse Wissenschaftskolleg (HWK) in Delmenhorst publishes an annual call for Junior Fellowships (< 5 years after PhD) and Regular Fellowships (> 5 years after PhD). This call is addressed to outstanding scientists from the postdoc phase onwards from all disciplines and all parts of the world except Northwest Germany. The goal is to give scientists a place to exchange ideas and to build and expand their networks. For this purpose, the HWK awards scholarships of 3 - 10 months to be spent at the Kolleg in Delmenhorst. Residency at the HWK throughout the entire fellowship is mandatory. Financial conditions are individually negotiated. The HWK supports researchers who wish to take up a fellowship while staying with child(ren), spouse, or partner.
The planned project must be related to one of the research fields of the HWK: „BRAIN, EARTH, ENERGY, SOCIETY, and the ARTS & LITERATURE“. Especially for experimental work, collaborations with colleagues at regional universities and research institutes are desired, but not a condition for application.
Being a fellow in the HWK should be considered as a scientific award for your research work, and thus also constitutes an added value for your scientific CV.
Application is possible via the HWK website.
Please note: The dates of calls might change throughout the year. When you save them to your calendar, your calendar will not show the changed dates. Please visit the funding calendar regularly or use our Live Funding Calendar to check for any changes. You can also find the link to our Live Calendar in the summary of the downloaded call.
