Forschungszentrum Jülich Shows Its True Colours

Jülich, 25 November 2021 – For the first time this year, Forschungszentrum Jülich is taking part in the international campaign “Orange Your City”, a call for action to end violence against women. The colour orange is used to represent a brighter future, free from any type of gender-specific violence. The day of activism was initiated by the Women’s Global Leadership Institute in 1991. Since 2008, it has been part of the United Nations Secretary-General’s campaign “UNiTE to End Violence against Women”, which is organized by UN Women. UN Women is the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. On 25 November, which was declared the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, important buildings are lit up in orange.
