BioökonomieREVIER: Topping Out Ceremony for First Agri-PV Research and Demonstration Facility in the Rhineland

Jülich/Morschenich-Alt, 29 October 2021 – The successful transformation of the energy sector depends on diverse, innovative solutions that will help us meet the increasing demand for electricity in future. Open spaces will also have to be integrated into this process. But what options are viable in the Rhineland region with its valuable arable land? A combined use of acreage for photovoltaics and agriculture could be one option. A topping out ceremony has just been celebrated for the first agri-PV facility at the “Place of the Future” in Morschenich-Alt. As part of the BioökonomieREVIER structural change initiative, Forschungszentrum Jülich will operate a demonstration facility together with partners. Dialogue with regional farmers will be encouraged.
