Jülich Fuel Cells Honoured for Contribution to Climate Protection

The KlimaExpo.NRW initiative has selected the research and development of solid oxide fuel cells at Forschungszentrum Jülich as an exemplary contribution to climate protection and has included it on its list of qualified projects. A stack of planar solid oxide fuel cells developed by the Institute of Energy and Climate Research has now been running for over 62,000 hours as part of a lifetime test. This seven-year operating time is a world record and demonstrates that the fuel cells are ready for application.
