The ER-C-3 investigates the structures of molecular assemblies and uses electron cryomicroscopy to determine the molecular structures of autophagy complexes. To fully realize the potential of electron cryomicroscopy, we are also interested in developing new and better approaches in sample preparation, data collection and processing.

The cryo-EM instruments are part of the Ernst-Ruska Centre with world-leading equipment in ultra-high resolution electron microscopy.

The cryo-EM facility of the Ernst-Ruska Centre 3 is equipped with state-of-the-art cryo-microscopes Talos Arctica including a Gatan Bioquantum K3 detector. For negative staining and cryo-EM, we use a Talos L120C from ThermoFisher Instruments. The facility is being maintained by Julio Ortiz.

Talos Arctica operated at 200 kV. Samples are loaded by Julio Ortiz.
