Guest student programme on Scientific Computing
Scope
Each summer JSC hosts a guest student programme. Within the programme, students with a major in natural sciences, engineering, computer science, or mathematics will get the opportunity to familiarize themselves with different aspects of scientific computing. Together with local scientists, they will work on a variety of current topics in research and development.
Programme contents
The programme starts with an introductory course concerning the techniques of parallel computing and use of the Jülich supercomputers. Afterwards each student will be assigned to a supervisor and work on a topic of the supervisor’s active field of research.
Application for 2026 is not open yet.
The 2026 programme will run for ten weeks from 3 August to 9 October 2026. The application deadline is 30 April 2025.
