FZJ-VNU KeyLab Initiative

Advanced molecular simulation methods play a key role for improving our understanding on how the brain work at the molecular level - and identify new therapeutic agents against neurological diseases. Unfortunately, in Vietnam, this area of research is still at an embryonal stage, yet this big country (100 million inhabitants) has excellent physicists who could greatly contribute to computational molecular medicine and drug design (as important as ever at this time of corona pandemic!).

The KeyLab is an initiative between Forschungszentrum Jülich and the Vietnamese National University of Science in Hanoi. It selects among the best young physicists in Vietnam for a variety of scientific projects. It is located both in Hanoi and in Julich.

Two PhD students fosters research of the Keylab team in Juelich. They interact with scientists from all over the world (including Gabriele Varani, Marc Spehr, Andrea Zaliani and Michele Parrinello) and they are involved in a variety of projects in pharmacology and neurobiology.
