Prof. Michele Cascella appointed Professor at University of Oslo

January 15, 2018 - Prof. Michele Cascella, former Ph.D student in the group was appointed as Full Professor at the University of Oslo in Norway.

Prof. Cascella's current research focuses on the development of novel multiscale computational techniques to study macromolecular biological complexes. In particular, making use of hybrid schemes able to hierarchically mix various levels of description (from quantum mechanics methods to parametrized classical Hamiltonians to coarse grained approaches) to simulate events that occur at different time and size scales. Particular interest is placed in studying functional conformational changes and molecular recognition phenomena (link to the personal page).
