The European Quantum Technologies Conference 2023 (EQTC2023) held in Hanover from October 16 to 20, was a major event for European research and innovation in quantum technologies. With nearly 700 stakeholders from various sectors in attendance, including science, politics, industry, startups, and young talents, the event provided an ideal setting to showcase HPCQS's expertise within the field. HPCQS made a notable presence at the Quantum Flagship booth, captivating visitors with the miniature quantum computer model from Forschungszentrum Jülich (left). Additionally, HPCQS featured a live demonstration by PASQAL of its quantum processor and software Pulser, marking significant advancements in quantum simulation. The conference also facilitated policy-making sessions, enabling discussions on the latest developments in the quantum ecosystem. HPCQS project coordinator Kristel Michielsen played a pivotal role in enriching these discussions with her scientific expertise, emphasizing the project's contribution to the 'European Strategy on Quantum Computing and Simulation'. Furthermore, HPCQS actively engaged in the discussion and presentation of the 'Quantum Flagship's Strategic Research and Industry Agenda (SRIA) 2030', with plans for publication on the Quantum Flagship website in early 2024. The involvement of HPCQS scientists in the SRIA Working Group on 'Quantum Computing and Quantum Simulation' and management partner EURICE in the SRIA Working Group on 'Communication & Outreach' underscores the project's commitment to shaping the future of quantum technology. Notably, industry partner ParityQC showcased its product portfolio, reaffirming HPCQS's collaborative efforts with key innovators in the quantum technology landscape.
