JUNIQ at ISC 2023

During the International Conference for Supercomputing, ISC 2023, in Hamburg in May 2023, Kristel Michielsen met Krisztian Benyo from PASQAL at the booth of the Gauss Centre for Supercomputing. Krisztian gave a presentation about PASQAL’s Quantum Simulator, which will be installed at FZJ/JSC and CEA/TGCC as part of the project HPCQS by the end of this year. Krisztian also made some demos of PASQAL’s Pulser environment on the booths of EuroHPC JU, CEA and GENCI to support potential users in discovering how to perform quantum simulations using neutral atoms. We are looking forward to starting the operation of PASQAL’s system and making the next step towards hybrid classical-quantum computing.

In addition, Sebastian Schulz presented latest research results of JSC’s research group on Quantum Information Processing, led by Kristel Michielsen. He also gave a demonstration on how to use D-Wave’s quantum annealer JUPSI, which is hosted and operated by JUNIQ. Visitors could also take a look at FZJ’s mock-up of a quantum computer, of which the electronics and the cryostat are described online.
