Every week on Thursdays from 3 to about 4 p.m., colleagues from Forschungszentrum Jülich present their work in a video conference. Short films and photos complement the format. Questions from the participants and a lively exchange are clearly encouraged.

With an energy of more than 10 exajoules, the eruption of a submarine volcano in Tonga in January 2022 was probably the strongest volcanic eruption in 140 years. Dr. Lars Hoffmann will report on Thursday, April 7 at 3:00 p.m. on how JSC's Climate Research Simulation Laboratory is supporting the analysis of NASA satellite data for this event. Initial results show extraordinary observations of atmospheric waves with global reach from the ground to the ionosphere.

The talk will be given in German.
