Technical Infrastructure

The team's main task is to provide the technical requirements for the installation and operation of the supercomputer systems for JSC. The team acts as the interface between the manufacturers of the computer systems and the campus infrastructure. This begins in the planning phase with the coordination of the manufacturer's requirements and the available resources, includes the customer-side coordination of tenders as well as the installation phase with support of the set-up until commissioning, and continues in the monitoring and operational optimization of the infrastructural media flows for the HPC and storage resources in the operation phase. For the housing and hosting of computer systems for various organizational units of the research center, planning and execution of all preparations take place here, as well as the necessary recording and compilation of the consumption of supply media for billing. Following or parallel to the installation phase, the coordination of the dismantling and disposal of the old computer systems takes place. In addition, the planning and commissioning of maintenance and repairs to safety systems and extensions to the connections for supply media in the machine rooms takes place here.
