The conditions specified below apply for the period of the visit, unless otherwise agreed in a special contract with Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH.

1. Forschungszentrum Jülich shall host the visitor for the purposes of collaboration between Forschungszentrum Jülich and the visitor’s homeinstitution. The visit does not represent an employment relationship, i.e. Forschungszentrum Jülich has no obligation to pay any salary. The visitor shall inform Forschungszentrum Jülich of any premature termination or interruption of his/her visit in good time.

2. The visitor shall be subject to the General Service Regulations of Forschungszentrum Jülich unless otherwise provided for hereinafter.

3. The visitor shall make available to Forschungszentrum Jülich, for the attention of the head of the institute hosting him/her, the results of his/her work, e.g. written documents, illustrations, graphs, or any other images including plans, materials, etc., created in connection with his/her visit at Forschungszentrum Jülich or on the basis of the experience gained and work conducted by the institutes of Forschungszentrum Jülich.

   The visitor’s right to use such results for his/her professional career and completion of his/her vocational training remains unaffected.

4. Any inventions and proposals for technical improvements shall be subject to the law on inventions by employees of 25 July 1957 (Federal Law Gazette (BGBl) I pp. 756 ff), as amended.

5. The publication of results obtained by the visitor during his/her visit on the basis of his/her collaboration shall be governed by the Publication Guidelines of Forschungszentrum Jülich.

6. The visitor shall maintain secrecy concerning official matters and the results of his/her work within the framework of his/her visit and will continue to do so after the end of his/her visit at Forschungszentrum Jülich.

   Without the approval of Forschungszentrum Jülich, the visitor shall not procure any knowledge, copies, samples, etc. of official documents, drawings, illustrations or any other images incl. plans, chemical substances or materials, production techniques, machine parts etc., either for him-/herself or for third parties, except for official purposes.

   The visitor shall surrender any official documents, drawings, illustrations, etc., as well as records of administrative and operational procedures obtained during his/her visit at Forschungszentrum Jülich, at the end of his/her period of visit at the latest.

   It is forbidden to bring any type of external device into Forschungszentrum Jülich. Special authorization can be granted by the head of institute responsible. In such instances, the external device shall be subject to the same connection, operating, and safety requirements as Forschungszentrum Jülich’s own devices.

7. At the request of Forschungszentrum Jülich, the visitor shall submit to a medical examination and observe all safety requirements as required by law, guidelines, and directives. Furthermore, the internal regulations of Forschungszentrum Jülich as amended must be complied with, in particular the General Safety Regulations.

8. The liability of the visitor vis-à-vis Forschungszentrum Jülich and that of Forschungszentrum Jülich vis-à-vis the visitor shall be governed by legal provisions.

9. The visitor shall notify Forschungszentrum Jülich without delay of any changes to the particulars entered by him/her on the application form.

10. The place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising during the period of visit shall be Jülich.

1. Temporary company IDs shall only be issued to persons who are engaged in official business at Forschungszentrum Jülich for more than five days. Should a stay beyond the stipulated period of time be necessary, an application to renew the ID should be filed.

2. The application form must be completed electronically and signed by the head of the host organizational unit as well as the visitor before being submitted to Human Resources – Personnel Management (P-B).

3. Upon termination of work, the company ID must be returned immediately.

4. Occasional visitors will be issued with a visitor’s pass for official business.

Visitors are entitled to make use of the services offered by the Central Library (ZB) in accordance with the rules governing the use of the library. In particular, the therms of use of electronic resources must be observed. These resources may only be used within the framework of work for Forschungszentrum Jülich. 1. The visitor shall agree that his/her data (surname, first name, Jülich email address, Jülich phone number, Jülich fax number, building, room, organizational unit) are shown in the internal electronic staff search of Forschungszentrum Jülich.

2. The personal data provided on the order form for the requested services shall be stored.

3. The visitor may not use any signature with the company information of Forschungszentrum Jülich in his/her emails.

4. Any use likely to harm Forschungszentrum Jülich’s interests or its reputation among the general public, affect company network security or violate applicable legal regulations and corporate rules of Forschungszentrum Jülich for handling electronic means of communication shall not be permitted, including in particular

   - the intentional retrieval or dissemination of contents violating legal provisions on data protection, personal rights, copyright, or criminal law,

   - the intentional retrieval or dissemination of insulting, defamatory, anti-constitutional, racist or pornographic statements or illustrations.

5. The internal regulations of Forschungszentrum Jülich Gmbh must be observed. Especially the IT Security Guidelines of Forschungszentrum Jülich and the IT Security Rules for Baseline Protection are binding for guests of Forschungszentrum Jülich. 6. Private email traffic is to be handled via external email services and requires the operation of an automatically updated virus scanner.
