Research group

The research group “Soil-, Root Systems and Rhizosphere Processes” studies the interactions between soil and plant roots through the combined use of mathematical modelling and experimental data.

Research focus

The research focuses on plant-soil interactions such as water and nutrient uptake, root architecture plasticity, root hair formation and root exudation as well as symbiosis with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. Overall aim is to support recommendations for sustainable agricultural production and ideotype design.
