Novel PET tracers provide promising opportunities to study molecular pathological changes associated with peripheral pain and enables to determine its exact location in the body.

Logo Pain-Vis

Pain is mostly experienced instantaneously. But it can be challenging to identify the pain-initiating location to best target the therapeutic approach. In the consortium, PAIN-Vis, consisting of the Uniklinik Köln, the Forschungszentrum Jülich, the Goethe Universität Frankfurt as well as the Grünenthal GmbH we investigate the molecular pathological changes underlying peripheral pain and if this allows the visualization of the pain-initiating location with the help of novel PET-Tracers.
