Improving Cytoarchitectonic Segmentation of Human Brain Areas with Self-supervised Siamese Networks.

Training deep neural networks to predict patch distance and location from high resolution histological patches of one brain volume yields models that recognize changes in cytoarchitecture and that, when fine-tuned, improve supervised area segmentation.
