The IKP-4 is currently involved in a number of national and international collaborations advancing particle physics at different facilities and in numerous fields all around the world.

  • HESR Consortium: The (financially) largest cooperation presently is the HESR consortium with members FZ Jülich (leading), FAIR and GSI (Darmstadt, Germany), ICPE-CA (Bucharest, Romania) and expert companies from Slovenia.
  • PANDA and SPARC collaborations: We are cooperating closely to integrate those experiments into the HESR
  • JEDI (Jülich Electric Dipole Investigation)
  • CERN (Geneva, Switzerland): General cooperation and staff exchange in all fields of accelerator physics
  • CERN (Geneva, Switzerland): Delivery of a 100 keV ion source with matched emittance for ELENA
  • iThemba labs (South Africa): Beam Diagnostics devices
  • Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics BINP (Nowosibirsk, Russia): Electron cooling
  • Bilateral exchanges and cooperation with CEA (Saclay France) and HZB (Berlin, Germany) in the field of superconducting RF resonators
  • JuSparc: Laser induced acceleration
  • Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR, Dubna Russia): Stochastic cooling for NICA
  • Nikon Universität (Tokyo, Japan): Developement for stochastic cooling systems
  • Insitute for Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Lanzhou, China): Accelerator physics and beam cooling
  • Frauenhofer-Institut for Technological Trend Analysis (Euskirchen, Germany)
  • Within the FZ Jülich:

    • Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine - Nuclear chemistry (INM-5)
    • Jülich Center for Neutron Science: High Brilliance Neutron Source
