Adjusted normal operations of the Jülich Supercomputing Centre as of 11 May 2020

In accordance with the preventive measures against the spread of the coronavirus published by the management of Forschungszentrum Jülich on 7 May, the Jülich Supercomputing Centre is switching to adjusted normal operations and adjusting its range of services.
During adjusted normal operation, we will supplement this announcement for you with current information (updates).

In accordance with the preventive measures against the spread of the coronavirus published by the Board of Directors of Forschungszentrum Jülich on 17 March, the Jülich Supercomputing Centre is adapting its range of services and switching to basic operations.
During basic operations, we supplement this message for you with current information (updates).

HPC systems and support:

The HPC systems are fully in operation. However, only half of the administrator team is on site to maintain them. The entire user support team is currently working from home. To report problems with the HPC systems and for support in using the supercomputers, please use the email address (ticket system)

The support phone number, +49 2461 61-2828, is currently diverted to an answering machine; recorded messages are immediately forwarded as voice messages to and then processed further.

JuNet network services and IT security

The number of on-site employees in the areas of network and IT security has been halved. Your usual contact persons can still be reached by email. Only the telephone availability could be temporarily limited, depending on the current workplace of the colleague (JSC office or home office). The VPN capacities have been increased and the IP address pools have also been expanded, which may require adjustments to your local firewall configurations. The current address ranges can be found here:
