Motion is a frequent problem in MRI, causing severe limitations and costs both in the clinic and in research. Typical motion correction methods require time-resolved information on the motion that happens during the MRI scan. This work provides a proof of concept of a new method for obtaining the motion information via spherical navigators (SNAVs). Low‐latency 3D rigid‐body motion information was derived from spherical Lissajous navigators acquired at extremely small k‐space radii. It offers solutions to several problems encountered previously in the literature and holds promise to increase the performance of SNAV‐based motion correction techniques in the future.
