Jacobi NCSM for singly strange hypernuclei

So-called hypernuclei can provide important information on interactions of hyperons wirth nuclei.

Hypernuclei, i.e. nuclei where one proton or neuteron has been replaced by a Lambda- or Sigma-Hyperon, are currently studied experimentally at many laboratories. In a recent publication, members of IAS-4/IKP-3 have established a numerical method that allows one to predict the properties of these hypernuclei based on moden interactions. The results enable us to check such interactions and, if necessary, to improve them. The new method will therefore contribute to a better understanding of the impact on hyperons on, e.g., neutron stars.
