Implications of the hypertriton binding energy

The hypertriton binding energies is important for the determination of the hyperon-nucleon interaction. IAS-4/IKP-3 recently investigated the implications of an increased hypertriton binding energy on predictions for other hypernuclei.

A new experiment of the STAR collaboration supports an significantly higher binding energy of the hypertriton than so far anticipated. In a recent publication, IAS-4/IKP-3 investigated whether such an increase binding energy is constistent with binding energies of other hypernuclei and the hyperon-nucleon scattering data. We found a consistent description is possible and also that the binding energy of the hypertriton is important to determine the properties of hyperon-nucleon interactions.
