Free Access to European Earth Systems Research Data

Jülich, 14 January 2019 – A two-day conference taking place in Prague on 14–16 January 2019 marks the official launch of ENVRI-FAIR. The project, which will receive € 19 million in funding over four years, aims to make the data obtained by all European Earth systems research infrastructures freely accessible across the world through the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), thus ensuring these data are available for research, innovation, and society. Dr. Andreas Petzold from Jülich’s Troposphere subinstitute is coordinating ENVRI-FAIR together with Dr. Ari Asmi from the University of Helsinki. Thirteen research infrastructures with a total of 37 partners from 14 European countries are involved in the project.
