Scientists Research How Heatwaves Affect Climate

Jülich, 12 July 2018 – We all know that summer weather, with temperatures sometimes rising above 30 °C, also has its downsides. How heatwaves affect our environment and climate is a subject being investigated by Jülich climate and soil researchers together with colleagues from Potsdam, Leipzig, and Garmisch-Partenkirchen on a test field close to Jülich. In our interview, soil researcher Prof. Nicolas Brüggemann and atmospheric researcher Dr. Ralf Tillmann explain why this research is so important.
