NRW Innovation Award for Bugra Turan

Düsseldorf/Jülich, 26 February 2018 – The North Rhine-Westphalian Innovation Award is one of the most distinguished German research prizes. After the German Future Prize, the Federal President’s Award for Technology and Innovation, it is the highest endowed prize of its kind and is this year being awarded for the ninth time. The prize is awarded in three different categories. Electrotechnician Dr. Bugra Turan will receive the award endowed with € 50,000 in the category for early-career scientists in recognition of his development of a practically applicable design for artificial photosynthesis, which he developed at Jülich’s Institute of Energy and Climate Research. The award will be presented by Andreas Pinkwart, Minister of Economics of North Rhine-Westphalia, during a ceremony in Düsseldorf on Monday evening.
