Research Topic:

Functional network organization of the brain in the aging process in relation to cognitive abilities:

The healthy aging process is accompanied by cerebral and cognitive decline. The extent to which cognitive performance decreases is highly interindividually variable.
Age related differences in cognitive performance have been linked to changes in the communication between brain areas. In this context I examine the interrelation between age-related functional network changes and the loss of cognitive performance using graph-theoretical approaches.

Methodical Focuses:

  • Neuropsychological Analyses
  • fMRI: Resting-State Analyses (Graph Theory)
