BACCARA: New Battery Research Graduate School

Jülich/Münster, 6 August 2020 – Longer ranges for electric vehicles and effective storage of electricity from renewable energy sources – doctoral researchers in Münster will explore these pioneering topics at a new international graduate school. The research centre for “Battery Chemistry, Characterization, Analysis, Recycling and Application” (BACCARA) has been officially opened at the MEET Battery Research Center of the University of Münster (WWU). It was set up with the participation of the Helmholtz Institute Münster, a branch office of Forschungszentrum Jülich, the MEET Battery Research Center and the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the University of Münster. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia is providing € 9.5 million of funding for the research school over five years.
