Peter Grünberg Institute (PGI)
The Peter Grünberg Institute (PGI) aims to bring the development of quantum computing and neuromorphic computing to the application stage. In doing so, it draws new technological approaches from its strong research and development of new materials and phenomena. By combining basic research and technology development, the Institute covers the entire development chain from new physical phenomena to software and system development. The PGI develops devices, circuits, systems and software in the field of quantum computing and neuromorphic computing, which can be summarised under the term "physics of information processing".
Innovations in these future information processing technologies have the potential to enable completely new applications while increasing energy efficiency.
